Plug you Joypad and press a button.

Check the following:

STANDARD GAMEPAD should show in the name just before the vendor

below the name of the Joypad, there should only be grey dots, no grey dashes.

mapping should be Standard and not n/a

There should only be buttons B0, B2, B3,...B15
-
The 4 bouton should be B0 to B3
the cross (direction) should be B12 to B15 -
There should not be analog axis like AXIS 0 and AXIS 1
